This place had freaking Groms hanging from the ceiling.

At home in Honolulu, Cycle City has the owners collection all around, it’s pretty impressive.

Nice! This place has similar, was meaning to take a bunch of photos but we weren’t in there very long.

Now what did you buy!?

Ha! Nothing for a while, garage is at a nice workable level right now.
I was there with my buddy who was picking up one of the new Honda CRF250L Rallys, we’re gearing up to so some longer distance off road riding over the summer.

Well if you change your mind, there’s room in my garage!
Speaking of off road riding... I just ordered a new rear tire for the monster. Scorpion trail 2. Yes it will see forest roads and dirt roads, again.
Shit! I should’ve texted you to see if you wanted to go to motocorsa for the V4 unveiling on Friday!

Oh man, DID THEY START IT???
And there’s not really a lot out there catching my fancy right now, been mildly tempted to pick up another cruiser, but I know I’d never ride it with the triple in the garage.

Nnnnnooooooo
Everyone booed them when we found out though!
However, there will apparently be one at their demo day this year!
Scout? Scout FTR? Triumph bobber? But yeah, with the triple you have no need for a cruiser.

Nice! I’ll have to camp out over night to grab a test slot :p
And yeah, the bobber and scout are the two I’ve test ridden that felt special... Just not as special as my triple. Now if Triumph made a classic styled bike with the engine out of the speedy, I just might take notice! I’d love a lighter more modern version of my old Thunderbird.

Ooh get me a slot too!
“Easy” solution: find a wrecked triple. Find a cheap triumph cruiser. Put the two together! What about the rocket? That thing is a triple isn’t it? (Not a serious question, I know that’s more like a Harley than anything else they offer)

The rocket is, well, a rocket. Test rode one at Cascade last year, and I may have done a few unintentional rolling burnouts totally without meaning to...
IfI lived in Texas or somewhere without corners I’d love to own one, but it’s not the right weapon for any of my normal stomping grounds.

I totally get it.

I wish Honda would make the Grom Scrambler a real thing already. I’d buy that in a heartbeat.

Except for when they have the upper levels closed off for 6 months however long remodeling takes in the islands, and you can only see them from the H1.
But what they had on display down at the mezzanine was quite nice.

rocket has a triple in it...
a 2300CC triple.

Oh I know, meant I wasn’t serious about him actually looking into one

Right?
Some longer travel suspension, knobbies, 70's styling. That would sell pretty good I think.

Does google image search for Grom Scrambler
HOLY CRAP I WANT THAT!

I think it would be a huge winner. You could buy one new, drive it as long as you want, and as long as you kept it in decent shape you could sell it for damn near as much as you paid for it.

Pretty sexy, right? A couple years ago a bunch of places reported that they were going to put it into production, but sadly they were wrong.

It makes me think of the Honda Mini Trail, first bike I ever learned on, which makes me want the Grom Scrambler even more

I think a lot of people think of those Mini Trails and get super nostalgic. They’d probably sell thousands of Grom Scramblers based on nostalgia alone.
For me, I learned to ride two years ago on a scooter at age 34, so I don’t have any of that nostalgia. I just think it looks damn sexy :)

Brah how long it take to do anything on da island? Extra lane to Ewa Beach took a million years. Every time I went past there during that project everyone talk’n story on the equipment, nothing being done. You lucky it wasn’t two years.

Great, you caused a nervous tick with my eyebrow from mentioning Honolulu road construction...
My pain was that I didn’t have much occasion to go to Cycle City, and the few times I went with time to look around before I moved to Okinawa it was ‘being remodeled.’ So I never got a good look at the stuff up top.
